Talking today about classroom experiences, open educational resources (OER) and PowerPoints, let's get into it!

Classroom Experiences 

My experience in EME2040 has been so helpful and necessary to my educational track of becoming a teacher. I considered myself well versed in technology until I took this class. There are so many tools that I learned about while taking this course that I didn't know existed. I can totally see myself using almost all of these tools in my future classroom. 

Open Educational Resources

Open Educational Resources or OER, are helpful tools used to expand our learning community. Radio shows, TV shows, and mail are great ways that learning materials can be spread that we don't often consider given the technological standpoint in education now. This blog post is a great way to get started about learning more about OER and why it's important to the education system. 

Assignment 4: PowerPoint for Information Dissemination

I love love loved, this assignment. It is honestly one of my favorite so far because it made me feel like a real teacher. I loved that it was inclusive to students who need assistance with PowerPoint (the narration portion of the assignment).

 Hello again! I hope that y'all are having the best day! Copyright So today I'm going to be discussing copyright and fair use. As teachers were often tasked with making lesson plans, handing out works sheets etc. But how do we overcome the issues of copyright? The simple answer would be to just create your own work, but unfortunately it's not that easy. Things like pictures, or even worksheets can be considered copyright. We can get around this problem by getting license's with Creative Commons. We can also encourage our students to do the same when working on online projects! Academic Dishonesty and Productivity But, encouragement only goes so far. In this day in age it's almost impossible to prevent students from "looking up" answers, or copying from the internet. Bonjour! I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend just as much as I am. Today I'm going to talk about school websites, personal technology use, PB Works, and Twitter.  School Websites If you click on the above photograph you can see the link to the website.  School websites are a great tool to connect with teachers as students or parents. Here we can see information regarding school events like bookfairs, sports events, etc. We can also navigate through teacher information about class activities and a tentative course schedule. As a student or parent more information may be available via login information, but this can be helpful to those who do not have this information.  Future Classroom Technology Use I would love to someday be given the opportunity to create my own class website.  Hello again! Brief introduction of our topic for today. I'm going to be discussing some of my personal experiences with technology, more specifically Diigo, blogging, and Canva.  Diigo Honestly, I don't have much to say here. Diigo is fine. That's about it. Not good or bad. It's quite frankly a bit confusing to use and read when you're in a group. One of the things I do actually like about it is the ability to add the extension to Google. This makes posting in a Diigo group that much easier. This being said, I DO NOT like the annotation and sticky note feature on Diigo. It's confusing and the sticky notes don't show up on the page, but rather on the side bar. Personally, I would really only use this program if I was required to.  Blogging Initially using Blogger was very confusing to me. The create format is hard to learn and use.
